What am I here to do?
Will changemakers end up burnt-out and depressed or will we flourish and thrive in these uncertain times?
Here are some thoughts I have on what life might be like for people who are working to make the world a better place in the next 10 years:
Scenario 1:
All those who have been working hard to make a positive difference in the world are angry and frustrated
They are tired from working continuously to ‘fix’ the world
They’re burnt out
They’re depressed from what’s happening
They want to keep trying to make the world better but they can’t find the energy to keep going.
They give up trying to make an impact because it’s all too much.
Scenario 2:
All those who have been working to make a positive difference in the world are full of life.
What they do aligns with their values and they have a clear purpose.
They act from a place of love, are non-judgemental, and open-minded.
They are able to positively challenge and take bold action.
They act from a place of joy and creativeness.
They work in a state of flow.
They are living in congruence with themselves.
They accept the ways things are and they understand the work that is theirs to do and let go of what’s not.
They are working in an inclusive, collaborative, systemic way.
They take care of themselves first as they know that’s the best way to keep doing the work.
They can manage their emotions and triggers, and can consciously respond.
They have a nurturing and regenerative relationship with themselves, with others and nature.
After 10 years of work trying to make a positive difference in the world by working in international development and then sustainability, I was on track to go down scenario 1 and now I am joyfully working on making scenario 2 my reality.
I want my work to support other people who want something different to help them make scenario 2 their reality too.
I’ve been working with my coach Paul Pivcevic the last few months to develop my regenerative and systems thinking to really refine what my vision is and what impact I want to have and here’s where I’m at:
My vision: A world where people are living in harmony with themselves, others and nature.
My purpose: is to contribute to a better world for all living beings, through enabling transformation of changemakers to reach their highest potential in order to have a systemic impact.
I believe a regenerative movement led by conscious changemakers will be better for all living beings.
So I want to support people who are leading the transition to a better world to be content and authentic so they can contribute to a better world for all beings.
My mission: To empower sustainability professionals through coaching to deepen their self-awareness and transform by enabling them to:
Overcome their limiting beliefs
Understand their values and purpose and live in alignment
Challenge their world views, assumptions, cultural norms
Manage and harness emotions, particularly the existential ones related to climate crisis
To become who they truly are and reach their fullest potential
If you are interested in coaching or you want to chat about all of this, I would love to hear from you.
Love this Heather! And so great to see you here ❤️🙏
